Rays Of Guidance

My Lord! Cause me to come in with a firm incoming and to go out with a firm outgoing. And give me from Thy presence a sustaining Power.” [Al Qur'aan 17:80]

“Seek Allah’s help with patient perseverance and prayer. It is indeed hard except for those who are humble.” (2:45)

“Oh you who believe! Seek help with patient perseverance and prayer, for God is with those who patiently persevere.” (2:153)

“Oh you who believe! Persevere in patience and constancy. Vie in such perseverance, strengthen each other, and be pious, that you may prosper.” (3:200)

“And be steadfast in patience, for verily Allah will not suffer the reward of the righteous to perish.” (11:115)

“Be patient, for your patience is with the help of Allah.” (16:127)

“Patiently, then, persevere – for the Promise of Allah is true, and ask forgiveness for your faults, and celebrate the praises of your Lord in the evening and in the morning.” (40:55)

“No one will be granted such goodness except those who exercise patience and self-restraint, none but persons of the greatest good fortune.” (41:35)

“Verily man is in loss, except such as have faith, and do righteous deeds, and join together in the mutual enjoining of truth, and of patience and constancy.” (103:2-3)

As Muslims, we should not let our emotions get the better of us. It is certainly difficult for a person to look at the tragedies of the world today and not feel helpless and sad. But believers are called to put their trust in their Lord, and not to fall into despair or hopelessness. We must continue to do what Allah has called us to do: put our trust in Him, perform good deeds, and stand as witnesses for justice and truth.

“Verily, with every difficulty there is relief.
Verily, with every difficulty there is relief”.
(94:5-6)

    Qadar Allah
Some things in life make us very happy and we claim it is the best thing that has ever happened to us. Then time goes by and we realize that that thing was a calamity, it was among the most terrible things that ever happened to us. At times, there are things in life that make us extremely sad and we claim that it is the worst thing that ever happened to us. Then later we realize that thing was a blessing and it truly was one of the most beneficent things that ever happened to us.
As believers (those who submit our will to the wishes of Allah), we should accept things. Do not go in extremes while celebrating or mourning.
As believers, we should remember that everything on the face of this universe and beyond is destined to perish. The goodness we enjoy and the failure or loss, which torments our soul, will not last forever. Therefore, we should never accept our present state as our permanent state. The worldly moments of happiness and pangs of agony will both end, sooner than we realize.
As believers we should understand that some things are beyond planning. And life doesn’t always turn out as planned.

We don’t plan for a broken heart.
We don’t plan for an autistic child.
    We don’t plan for spinsterhood.

We plan to be young forever.
We plan to climb the corporate ladder.
We plan to be rich and powerful.
We plan to be acclaimed and successful.

We plan to conquer the universe.
We plan to fall in love – and be loved forever.

We don’t plan to be sad.
We don’t plan to be hurt.
We don’t plan to be broke.
We don’t plan to be betrayed.
We don’t plan to be alone in this world You plan to be happy.
We don’t plan to be shattered .

Sometimes if we work hard enough, we can get what we want.
However, MOST times, what we want and what we get are two different things.

We, mortals, plan. Nevertheless, so does Allah.
Sometimes, it is difficult to understand Allah’s plans especially when His plans are not in consonance with ours.

Often, when He sends us crisis, we turn to Him in anger. True, we cannot choose what Allah wishes us to carry, but we can carry it with courage knowing that He will never abandon us nor send something we cannot cope with .

Sometimes, Allah breaks our spirit to save our soul.
Sometimes, He breaks our heart to make us whole.
Sometimes, He allows pain so we can be stronger.
Sometimes, Allah sends us failure so we can be humble.
Sometimes, He allows illness so we can take better care of ourselves.
And sometimes, Allah takes everything away from us so be khalis (pure and sincere to Him).

Make plans for both worlds and strive hard to achieve them but understand that we live by Allah’s grace.

May Allah increase us all in understanding and practise of Deen. Grant us accetable deeds and pure provision. Save us and our families from Hellfire and lead us in Jannah of Delights -aameen.
