Posted by awaqas1 on May 22, 2008
All praises and glories to Allah subhana wata3ala who has blessed us with the Blessing of Quran.
Alhamdulillah we will be completing Surah Al-Baqara on May, 24th, 2008 in Al Huda inshallah.
Allah says;
“O mankind! there hath come to you a direction from your Lord and a healing for the (diseases) in your hearts,- and for those who believe, a guidance and a Mercy. Say: “In the bounty of Allah. And in His Mercy,- in that let them rejoice”: that is better than the (wealth) they hoard” ( 10:57-58 )
Getting the blessing of Quran is something we should rejoice and celebrate. Everyone of us feel that since Quran came to our life our life has taken a different turn towards the best, which is such a great achievement- then why not share this accomplishment with others.Completion of Surah Al-Baqara will be a good time to introduce your friends and family to Quran. You can invite your friends and family on this happy occasion at Al Huda Institute. This will make your learning special and a Sadaqa-e-jaria for you.
Inshallah students will be sharing their feelings how studying just one Surah has made so much difference in their lives. These comments become a great source of motivation for others to come towards Quran. Even if one person from that gathering decide to learn Quran it will be a Sadaqa-e-jaria for us for a lifetime.

We studied in class toady…
It is He who forms you in the wombs however He wills. There is no one worthy of worship except Him, the Exalted in Mighty, the Wise – 3:6
Islam is an Arabic word and connotes submission, surrender and obedience. As a religion, Islam stands for complete submission and obedience to Allah[1]. A Muslim is one who voluntarily submits to Allah in Islam.
Everyone can see that we live in an orderly universe, where everything is assigned a place in a grand scheme. The moon, the stars and all the planets are knit together in a magnificent system. They follow unalterable laws and make not even the slightest deviation from their ordained courses. Similarly, everything in the world, from the minute whirling electron to the mighty nebulae, invariably follows its own laws. Matter, energy and life-all obey their laws, grow, change, live, and die in accordance with those laws. Even in the human world, the laws of Allah are paramount. A human’s birth, growth and life are all regulated by a set of biological laws. We derive sustenance from nature in accordance with an unalterable law. All the organs of our body, form the smallest tissues to the heart and the brain, are governed by the laws prescribed for them. In short, ours is a law-governed universe and everything in it is following the course that has been ordained for it.
This powerful, all pervasive law and authority, which governs all that comprises the universe, form the tiniest specks of dust to the magnificent galaxies of the heavens, is the حكم of Allah, the Creator and Rule of the Universe. As the whole of creation obeys the law of Allah, the whole universe, therefore literally follows the religion of Islam, for Islam signifies nothing but obedience and submission to Allah, the Lord of the Universe. The sun, the moon, the earth and all the planets are thus ‘Muslims’. So is the air, water, heat, stones, trees and animals. Everything in the universe is Muslim for it obeys Allah by submission to His laws. Even people who refuses to believe in Allah, or offers his worship to someone other than Allah, has necessarily to be a ‘Muslim’ as far as their existence is concerned.
For our entire life, from the embryonic stage to the body’s dissolution into dust after death, every tissue of his muscles and every limb of our body follow the course prescribed by Allah’s Law, based on His Wisdom. Our very tongue, which, because of our ignorance, advocates denial of Allah or fabricates lies against Allah, is in its very nature ‘Muslim’. Our head, which wantonly bows to others besides Allah, is born ‘Muslim’. Our heart, which through our lack of true knowledge, cherishes love and reverence everyone other than Allah is ‘Muslim’ by nature. These are all obedient to the Divine Law, and their functions and movements are governed of that Law alone.

هُوَ ٱلَّذِىٓ أَنزَلَ عَلَيۡكَ ٱلۡكِتَـٰبَ
It is He who has sent down to you the Book – 3:7
The human body is the most complicated machine in the world. We see with it, hear with it, breathe with it, walk and run with it, and sense pleasure with it. Its bones, muscles, arteries, veins and internal organs are organized with marvellous design, and when we examine this design in detail we find even more amazing facts. Thousands of chemical and physical events take place in the depths of the mother’s womb outside the her and her child’s knowledge and will. The cells in our body, and bone cells for instance, divide and multiply through the developmental phase of nine months. Our flesh initially is no lager than a chickpea, and it gradually grows, divides and multiplies in an immaculate order. Who caused our cells to grow? Our structured our bones and clothed our flesh with skin? It is Allah who created you, also revealed the Quran for هُدً۬ى لِّلنَّاسِ your guidance. Won’t you love it? Read it? Live it?

[1] Another literal meaning for the world Islam is “peace” and this signifies that one can achieve real peace of body and mind only through, submission and obedience to Allah. Such a life of obedience brings with it peace of heart and establishes real peace in society.

On Saturday alhamdulilah we learned…
To Allah belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth. Whether you show what is within yourselvse or conceal it, Allah will bring you to account for it. Then He will forgive whom He wills and punish whom He wills, and Allah is over all things competent – 2:284
What is in the heavens and the earth? Can you encompass it? Can you name all of it? Can you create it? Everything that we see around us and beyond is all creation of Allah. He owns it and has absolute authority over it. He knows it inside out. Our secret thoughts, intentions, our phone calls, emails and msn chats are all in His knowledge. He has put us under surveillance to judge us and bring us to account for how we lived our lives. He can forgive us if He wills or punish us if he wills. He can do anything He wills and He has the power and the ability to execute His plans.
Though Allah created everything and ultimately owns and controls all things, He has given us limited freedom to use or abuse His creation as a test. The result of this test will be announced on the Day of Judgement. Allah will forgive some of us and punish some of us for our belief and our good use of His creation or the lack thereof. For this purpose, Allah has appointed angels on every human being to record our deeds, speech and even thoughts and emotions.
Our actions and speech can easily be detected but our thoughts and feelings are discrete. Though we will not be questioned about our fleeting thoughts, ones which come and go and we have no control over them. Alalh will most certainly judge us about the thoughts we dwell upon, the thoughts which become our firm intentions, the thoughts which we verbalize.
Why? Because you are what you think. Over time, what you continue thinking becomes your belief. Your beliefs about right and wrong, good and bad, becomes the bases of your personal values, your likes and dislikes. Your life principles come from your values and affect your behaviour and life. Your life thus depends on your thinking. You come what you think. Mind controls the body, but heart (in it is imaan – belief in the articles of faith – and taqwa – consciousness of Allah – ) provides the guidance system. Your thinking (whispers from Shaytan etc) has the power of corrupting your guidance system. When you change your thinking (regulate your thoughts: seek refuge in Allah from the whispers of Shaytan, remember the blessings of Allah, read the Quran, sit in the company of scholars, remember your sins etc) you change your life.
Statistically, in one second, 800 things go through our mind. Seemingly, it is difficult to keep a check on our thoughts and emotions all the time. However, alhamdulilah all things become easy through patience and prayer. Thus, the Prophet Muhammad sallahu alyihi wa sallam would frequently supplicate, “O Allah! The Over-turner of hearts, make my heart steadfast and firm upon Your Deen” and “O Allah! The One who turns the hearts, turn my heart towards Your obedience” – aameen.
Let us pray and make a firm intention not to allow our thoughts to distract us from studying the Quran, memorizing our lesson, coming to class regularly and paying attention and taking notes during the lecture. The Prophet Muhammad sallahu alyihi wa sallam said, “The best among you are those who learn and teach the Quran”. Let us strive to be the best inshahAllah. Oh Allah forgive us, raise us on the Day of Judgement with the Companions of the Quran -aameen.
