O God, I have come out with they help

On thee I depend, I consider thee as my protector and to thee I turn my face

O God, you are the object of my trust and you are my hope

You are sufficient for what troubles me and what you know of me.

It is Glory to live in thy neighborhood, thy presence is sufficient.

There is no deity but thee.

O God, increase my God fear, Pardon my sins, guide me towards good wherever I go.

This is a prayer which I wrote down in a note book once I came across a little book which had the prayers of the prophet written by Ibn Qayyam. If anyone come across the arabic version please let me know. On my next trip to toronto I will see if i can find the book in the Reference library and scan it or something. Its from an old book, never the less its beauty is contained in the verses.

‘Abd al-Malik (RA) said: “When ‘Awf ibn Muhallim al-Shaybani, one of the most highly respected leaders of the Arab nobility during the jahiliyyah, married his daughter Umm Iyas to al-Harith ibn ‘Amr al-Kindi, she was made ready to be taken to the groom, then her mother, Umamah came into her, to advise her and said:

‘O my daughter, if it were deemed unnecessary to give you this advice because of good manners and noble descent, then it would have been unnecessary for you, because you posses these qualities, but it will serve as a reminder to those who are forgetful, and will help those who are wise.
‘O my daughter, if a woman were able to do without a husband by virtue of her father’s wealth and her need for her father, then you of all people would be most able to do without a husband, but women were created for men just as men were created for them.

‘O my daughter, you are about to leave the home in which you grew up, where you first learned to walk, to go to a place you do not know, to a companion to whom you are unfamiliar. By marrying you, he has become a master over you, so be like a servant to him, and he will become like a servant to you.

‘Take from me ten qualities, which will be a provision and a reminder for you.

‘The first and second of them are: be content in his company, and listen to and obey him, for contentment brings peace of mind, and listening to and obeying one’s husband pleases Allah.

‘The third and fourth of them are: make sure that you smell good and look good; he should not see anything ugly in you, and he should not smell anything but a pleasant smell from you. Kohl is the best kind of beautification to be found, and water is better than the rarest perfume.

‘The fifth and sixth of them are: prepare his food on time, and keep quiet when he is asleep, for raging hunger is like a burning flame, and disturbing his sleep will make him angry.

‘The seventh and eighth of them are: take care of his servants (or employees) and children, and take care of his wealth, for taking care of his wealth shows that you appreciate him, and taking care of his children and servants shows good management.

‘The ninth and tenth of them are: never disclose any of his secrets, and never disobey any of his orders, for if you disclose any of his secrets you will never feel safe from his possible betrayal, and if you disobey him, his heart will be filled with hatred towards you.

‘Be careful, O my daughter, of showing joy in front of him when he is upset, and do not show sorrow in front of him when he is happy, because the former shows a lack of judgment whilst the latter will make him unhappy.
‘Show him as much honor and respect as you can, and agree with him as much as you can, so that he will enjoy your companionship and conversation.

‘Know, O my daughter, that you will not achieve what you would like to until you put his pleasure before your own, and his wishes before yours, in whatever you like and dislike. And may Allah choose what is best for you and protect you.”

Hadith Qudsi, Allah said:

O son of Adam, so long as you call upon Me and ask of Me, I shall forgive you for what you have done, and I shall not mind.

O son of Adam, were your sins to reach the clouds of the sky and were you then to ask forgiveness of Me, I would forgive you.

O son of Adam, were you to come to Me with sins nearly as great as the earth and were you then to face Me, ascribing no partner to Me, I would bring you forgiveness nearly as great at it.

- Saheeh. Related by at-Tirmidhi.

There comes a time in everyone’s life when one feels stuck and stagnant unable to move on. Even if one wants to move on one is not sure which way to go or one might feel as if chained to something which will not let them move on. In this case a person might be so attached to their current situation or their past that they are unable to think ahead which prevents them from move ahead. On the other side their usually awaits bigger and better things sometimes beyond ones imagination but the person cannot see this because they are to attached to their current situation and in most cases to their past that they do not see the bright future that awaits them.

What to do in this case? Usually the first thing you need to do is get a clear picture of what is it that you want to move towards. So for example if you are over weigh you might think to yourself that you want to lose wight. I would say this is not the best approach, don’t think about losing waight but rather focus on the person you would like to become. Perhaps you might want to be physically fit, perhaps you want to be able to run a marathon perhaps you want to achieve better health and clear state of thinking. Whatever it is that you want to move towards to get a clear picture, yes I do mean a real picture by using your imagination think to yourself what is it that you would like to move towards to. By just doing this you will be moving yourself one step closer to becoming the better you.

Next step: Why you need to make your dreams become reality

As humans we all dream at times some of us dream more than others some of us are even referred to as day dreamers. What is the purpose of dreaming anyways? The answer to this question might differ for everyone; a good way to find out what it is for you is to ask yourself what would happen if you weren’t able to dream anymore.

What changes would this bring to your thinking, how would this effect your motivation, would your growth be effected by this? By answering these questions you will realize that if you weren’t able to dream your motivation will become stagnant your thinking will become boring and you will have no exciting ideas to look forward to. The good thing is that we are able to dream and that dreaming is Free for everyone.

Most people frown at dreams sometimes because dreams are only dreams, they are not real (yet). This is usually the thinking state of people who don’t take action to bring their dreams to reality. Without action your dreams sit under the sun of your thoughts and become like bleached bones which refuse to excite you anymore. The people who do bring their dreams to reality are the people who cherish their dreams, take direct action right away, they take action on their dreams they take a step no matter how small the step is they move forward. It has been said that: “journey of 1000 miles begins with one step”. Think about a practical step that you can take towards making your dream become a reality and take that step now! By doing this you will make your dream more exciting while bringing it closer to reality.

What would happen if you let your dream sit under the sun? That is for you to realize but keep in mind that your dream will benefit not only you but it will benefit others as well. These could be your friends your work associates your classmates, your siblings, your family most of all your fellow human beings. The choice is yours what you do with your dreams, now you know the power they have; you can begin to harness this power to your advantage and to advantage of others.

Making Millions

Since last Friday I have been in Toronto mostly at the Winston Harbor Castle. I have been helping out with the latest DiscoverU events while discovering great wealth of knowledge. Abu Bin Adam

Abu Bin Adam (may his tribe increase!)
Awoke one night from a deep dream of peace,
And saw, within the moonlight in his room,
Making it rich, and like a lily in bloom,
An angel writing in a book of gold:—
Exceeding peace had made Bin Adam bold,
And to the Presence in the room he said
“What writest thou?”—The vision raised its head,

Answered “The names of those who love the Lord.”
“And is mine one?” said Abu. “Nay, not so,”
Replied the angel. Abu spoke more low,
But cheerly still, and said “I pray thee, then,
Write me as one that loves his fellow men.”

The angel wrote, and vanished. The next night
It came again with a great wakening light,
And showed the names whom love of God had blessed,
And lo! Bin Adam’s name led all the rest.

1000 years of knowledge

Sultans of science are in our backyard waiting to be welcomed. Ontario Science Center is having an international exhibition and Canadians are the first ones to see it. The exhibition celebrates the scientific and technological breakthroughs made by scholars during the Golden Age of the Islamic World (eighth to 18th centuries) and their lasting influence on modern science and technology.

This is a chance for the people of all races, religions and backgrounds to get acquainted with the people who brought about change. If we ever want to break through the problems that are facing us today; it will do us an abundant good if we looked to our ancestors and those who have done this successfully. This will greatly cultivate enthusiasm and give us a fresh way of thinking to go about our problems.

Journey of 3000 miles

“3000 miles, Mecca, is 3000 miles to the east, some say it is too far, but I am determine to make this journey; as so many has in the past and so many will in the ages to come.”

You all probebly have seen hajj, or taravih live on T.V. and its pretty good. Imagine following Ibn Battuta on his Journey to Mecca as he travels with a caravan of 10,000 other muslims to Hajj. Follow him to Arafat and not only see but experince a journey of a determind man. Now IMAGINE watching this on a screen that is 4,500 times bigger than an average T.V. screen :O if that is not enough lets enhnce your hearing senses with 44 speakers.. WOW!

If your imagination is running behind trying to catch up I dont blame you, mine is a bit behind too and that is why I am actually going to go and see this for myself and acutally experince it and you can too.
